St Martin’s Project 2024

This year we invite you to improve the circumstances of struggling families who are served by the Family Support Center

Since 1977, The Family Support Center has been dedicated to strengthening Utah families by providing essential support during challenging times. Their crisis nurseries offer safe spaces for children when parents need temporary relief, and their Lifestart Village provides stable housing for single-parent families who are rebuilding after homelessness, escaping domestic violence, or working toward recovery and reunification with their children.

Just as St. Martin shared the warmth of his cloak with another, we invite you to share a new coat for an infant or toddler (size newborn to 5T)  this year. We also invite you to donate new diapers of all sizes.

Bring your donation to the market, and drop it off at our St. Martin’s booth in the center plaza of the market. Donations will be accepted during market hours: Dec 4th-7th from 11:00am-8:00pm.

Please also consider making a monetary donation to the Family Support Center by credit card or cash. Monetary donations will be accepted at either the St. Martin’s booth in the center plaza or one of our Information booths, located near each Christkindlmarkt entrance. All donations will go directly to the Family Support Center, where your kindness and generosity will make a great difference in the lives many.

Just as St. Martin did all he could to extend Kindness and relieve suffering we invite you to put the KIND in Christkindlmarkt by supporting the St. Martin’s project.

St. Martin Project 2023: The Ron McBride Foundation

In 2023, we collected sports balls to donate to afterschool programs in Title 1 Schools across the state. With our help, the Ron McBride foundation reached its goal to provide valuable afterschool programs in 23 schools.

St. Martin Project 2022: My HomeTown

In 2022, friends of Christkindlmarkt SLC donated literacy kits containing books and gift cards to children in need. We distributed these literacy kits to families who participate in the My HomeTown programs.

St. Martin Project 2021: ShowUp Utah

In 2021, supporters of Christkindlmarkt SLC collected over $9000.00 in gift cards and cash donations to help Foster Families and Refugees. This project was in partnership with ShowUp Utah.

St. Martin Project 2020: Navajo Nation

Due to the Covid pandemic, the 2020 market was cancelled. In lieu of the usual market, the “St. Martin’s Project” was introduced. Our first year benefitted our friends who live on the Navajo Nation who experienced great need due to the pandemic. With your help, Christkindlmarkt SLC collected 1500 Covid and Education kits for Navajo Strong, a local non-profit that benefits members of the Navajo Nation.
